The Cyprus Commission for the Protection of Competition, at its meeting on the 21.10.2013, decided, as per Article 31 of the Protection of Competition Law (L.13(I)/2008), to conduct a dawn raid at the premises of the above named enterprises.
The above investigation is being conducted on the basis of an ex officio investigation by the Commission regarding the possibility of bid rigging of three public tenders for ready mix concrete for the district of Limassol, that took place between November 2011 and June 2012, in contravention of Article 3 of the Law.
The investigation began on the 22.10.2012 and was completed on the same day.
The Commission wishes to point out that the conduct of an investigation does not indicate by any means that a party under investigation is guilty of an infringement of the Protection of Competition Law (L.13(I)/2008), but has as its aim to collect all information and evidence deemed necessary, as per the Commission’s powers of investigation for the implementation of the Law (L.13(I)/2008).
