The Service of the Commission for the Protection of Competition announces that it has received a notification of concentration regarding the acquisition of the share capital of Tecnofilm S.p.A., by Eni S.p.A., via Versalis S.p.A.
Eni S.p.A. is a Società per azioni, duly registered under the laws of Italy. It is listed on New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and on Borsa Italiana in Milan (Index MIV). Eni S.p.A. is the mother sompany of the homonymous group, active mainly in oil and gas exploration, development and extraction, production and sales, wholesale and retail of fuels, biofuels, lubricants and chemicals, as well as in the supply, trading and transportation of oil, natural gas, liquefied natural gas and electricity.
Versalis S.p.A. is a company controlled by Eni S.p.A., which is active internationally in the sectors of basic and intermediate chemicals of plastics, rubber, chemicals from renewable sources and the sale of licenses related to technologies and expertise. Versalis S.p.A. is active in the production and marketing of intermediates, polyethylene, styrenic elastomers, biochemicals, molding and compounds.
Tecnofilm S.p.A., is an Italian company active in the production and trade of a very wide portfolio of thermoplastic compounds, which are intended for multiple applications (e.g. home appliances, automotive, construction, electronics, sports goods, footwear, etc.), as well as functional polyolefins, modified with maleic anhydride.
