The Service of the Commission for the Protection of Competition announces that it has received a notification of a concentration, concerning the acquisition joint control over Green Pixel Productions S.A. production and marketing of audio-visual material, television, radio and other program and related services, by Alpha Satellite Television S.A. and NEW Television S.A.
Alpha Satellite Television S.A. is a company duly registered in accordance with the Laws of Greece. The said company is active in electronic media, primarily as a provider of terrestrial digital television broadcasting free-to-air information program of general content. Its activity is the operation of the national television news station "ALPHA". This company is owned by Motor Oil (HELLAS) Refineries of Corinth S.A.
Motor Oil (Hellas) Corinth Refineries SA constitutes the mother company of a group of companies active in the following sectors: oil refining and production, basic lubricant oils, asphalt, liquid gas, jet fuel, fuel oil and gasoline, wholesale and retail trading of petroleum products and lubricants, management and exploitation of petroleum products plants, operation of the aviation fuel refueling system and the storage facilities of the Athens International Airport, energy, chemicals, electricity supply and/or natural gas and shipping.
NEW TELEVISION S.A. is a public limited company that operates the national television station "STAR". Star Channel operates as a licensed provider of terrestrial digital television free-to-air general content information programme.
