The Service of the Commission for the Protection of Competition received on behalf of Kayak Software Corporation and priceline.com Incorporated, a notification of the proposed concentration according to Section 13 of the Control of Concentrations between Enterprises Law (Number 22(I)/99), concerning the purchase of share capital of Kayak Software Corporation by priceline.com Incorporated.
According to the notification, with the completion of the proposed concentration, priceline.com Incorporated shall acquire through its subsidiary company Produce Merger Sub, Incorporated, complete control of Kayak Software Corporation.
Priceline.com Incorporated is a company duly registered under the laws of the State of Delaware in the United States of America, and is active in the provision of travel services via the internet, allowing consumers to search and make reservations of trips on a global basis. Known also as “the Priceline Group”, it consists of four main commercial trade names, Booking.com, priceline.com, Agoda.com and Rentalcars.com.
Produce Merger Sub, Incorporated is a company duly registered under the laws of the State of Delaware in the United States of America. The said company is an exclusive ownership of priceline.com Incorporated and has been registered for the purposes of the present concentration.
Kayak Software Corporation is a company duly registered under the laws of the State of Delaware in the United States of America. The said company is active in the provision of free tools which areassociated with travel services through global websites and mobile applications. Through its travel management service the specific company allows its users to easily collect the information of their reservations in one sole presentation.
