The Service of the Commission for the Protection of Competition received, according to Section 13 of the Control of Concentrations between Enterprises Law (Number 22(I)/99), a notification of a proposed concentration on behalf of the Delta Anonymous Industrial and Commercial Food Enterprise (hereafter “DELTA”) concerning the acquisition of part of the share capital of Makedoniki Industrial Galaktos-MEVGAL S.A.( hereafter “MEVGAL”).
MEVGAL is registered under the Laws of Greece and belongs to physical persons. MEVGAL is active in the production and distribution of dairy products such as milk, cheese, yogurt and fruit juices.
MEVGAL is active in the Republic of Cyprus in the sale of yogurt and feta cheese.
DELTA is registered under the Laws of Greece. DELTA is a subsidiary of VIVARTIA Holding S.A. (hereafter “VIVARTIA”) a member of the Margin Investment Group (hereafter “MIG”). DELTA is active in the distribution of dairy products. VIVARTIA through its subsidiaries is active in the food and beverages industry and restaurant sector. MIG is an investment group and is active in the passenger ferry operator, transportation, IT, real estate, health, tourism and leisure services. MIG is active in the Republic of Cyprus through its subsidiaries in the sale of chocolate milk, yogurt and tourism services.
