The Service of the Commission for the Protection of Competition on the 5th of March 2010 received on behalf of Mitsui & Co. (USA) Inc. and Nucor Corporation Inc. notification of a proposed concentration through their subsidiaries Game Changer Holdings Inc. and Nucor Homerun Holdings Inc., according to Section 13 of the Control of Concentration between Enterprises Law (Number 22(I)/99), concerning the joint control of Steel Technologies Ltd.
The main activities of Mitsui & Co(USA) Inc. are the production and trade of different kind of products (i.e. iron, steel, machinery etc.), the provision of services concerning information, communication, retail sales, technical support, transportation, surveillance, financing and the coordination of a number of industrial plans.
The main activities of Nucor Corporation Inc. are the production and trade of products made of steel.
The main activity of Steel Technologies Ltd is the processing of “flat-rolled” steel.
The main activities of Numit LLC. will include the processing of “flat-rolled” steel and distribution of all the relevant products.
