Notification of a concentration between the companies, Lukoil Cyprus Ltd and ExxonMobil Cyprus Inc

The Service of the Commission for the Protection of Competition announces that, the company Lukoil Cyprus Ltd, by a notification to the Chairman and the members of the Commission, notifies that, on the 24.12.2003 have contracted an agreement by which they buy off 13 service stations established in Cyprus, from the Company ExxonMobil Cyprus Inc.

The Company Lukoil Cyprus Ltd deals with the supply, storage and marketing of fuels and lubricants in Cyprus. It started marketing operations in Cyprus on July 1, 2002 with 16 service stations. This event was the implementation of the decision of the Council of Ministers per Administrative Action 359/2001 as published in the official gazette of 7.9.2001.

The Company ExxonMobil Cyprus Inc is a subsidiary of ExxonMobil Corporation following the global merger between Exxon Corporation and Mobil Corporation. The Company deals with the supply, storage and marketing of fuels and lubricants in Cyprus.

According to Article 24 of The Control of Concentrations Between Enterprises Law of 1999, in case of a concentration for which a full investigation is carried out (Article 23), the Service provides, subsequent to the application of persons that have legal interest but do not participate in the concentration, an opportunity to submit their opinions in regards to the concentration at a way and time that the deadline set by Article 28 is not affected.
