The Service of the Commission for the Protection of Competition has received a notification of a concentration, according to Section 10 of the Control of Concentrations between Enterprises Law of 2014, concerning the formation of the company SMARTSEA LIMITED by the companies COLUMBIA TECHNOLOGY LTD and SITA B.V.
COLUMBIA TECHNOLOGY LTD is part of the Columbia Group and is the entity that leads the Columbia Group's technology and digitalization efforts. The Columbia Group is a global group of companies active in the field of ship management and provides integrated services related to the shipping sector. Columbia Group is part of the Schoeller Group.
SITA B.V. belongs to the SITA Group, a group that operates in aviation, by providing technological solutions, services and know-how for the aviation sector. SITA B.V. is primarily engaged in the provision and integration of information and communications technologies (ICT) and equipment, including related consultancy/technical support, as well as all related services and supplies, including but not limited to the sale, import, leasing, rental, licensing and maintenance of computer and telecommunications equipment and/or software.
SMARTSEA LIMITED is a company registered under the laws of the Republic of Cyprus, and has been incorporated for the purposes of the Proposed Deed, currently with no activity. The company will offer marine technology solutions to an existing clientele of the respective Schoeller Group subsidiaries, while also targeting other third parties such as ship owners, ports and third party operators.
