The Service of the Commission for the Protection of Competition on the 6th of September 2010 received on behalf of the companies Vasiliko Cement Works Public Company Ltd and Hellenic Tzilalis (Cyprus) Ltd, notification of a proposed concentration according to Article 13 of the Control of Concentration between Enterprises Law (Number 22(I)/99), concerning an agreement by which these two enterprises will establish a joint venture called Enerco – Energy Recovery Ltd.
Vassiliko Cement Works Public Company Ltd is a Cyprus-based company, which is engaged in the production and distribution of cement and clinker. The Company produces several types of cement: ordinary portland cement, low alkali-sulphate resistant portland cement, portland composite cement and white low alkali portland limestone cement. Vassiliko Cement Works Public Company Ltd also has a presence in the ready-mix concrete market and aggregates quarrying through its subsidiary and associate companies.
Hellenic Tzilalis (Cyprus) Ltd is a private company registered in Cyprus which is active in the environmental technology sector, e.g. waste management and industrial and office cleaning, and aims at offering complete solutions to industry, the private sector and Cyprus’s local authorities.
Enerco – Energy Recovery Ltd which is also a private limited company registered in Cyprus, was established primarily for the production, use and energy recovery of secondary materials and secondary fuels and waste.
