The Service of the Commission for the Protection of Competition on the 27th of December 2011 received on behalf of Marks & Spencer International Holdings Limited, notification of the proposed concentration according to Section 13 of the Control of Concentrations between Enterprises Law (Number 22(I)/99), concerning the sale and purchase of share capital of Marks & Spencer Marinopoulos BV.
With the completion of the proposed concentration, Marks & Spencer Marinopoulos BV will be wholly owned by Marks & Spencer International Holdings Limited, and thus there will be a change of control, from joint control to full control.
Marks & Spencer International Holdings Limited is a holding company which has investments in a number of companies of Marks & Spencer worldwide, including China, Czech, Greece, Guernsey, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Singapore and the United Kingdom.
Marks & Spencer Marinopoulos BV is a holding company which has investments in companies of Marks & Spencer in Greece, Montenegro, Romania, Slovenia, Serbia, Switzerland, Bulgaria and Croatia. These companies operate Marks & Spencer’s forty-seven 47 stores in the abovementioned countries.
