The Commission for the Protection of Competition received a notification of a proposed Joint Venture according to section 10 of the Control of Concentrations between Undertakings Law (Number 83(I)/2014) by the companies Hellenic Petroleum Cyprus Ltd, Petrolina Holdings (Public) Ltd, Synergas Cooperative Society and Intergaz Ltd.
The Joint Venture VLPG PLANT LTD will engage in the construction and operation of the installation, storage and management of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) on an industrial site within the “Vasiliko” Industrial Zone that will be rented from the Republic of Cyprus.
Hellenic Petroleum Cyprus Ltd was created after the acquisition of BP Cyprus LTD and is a private limited liability company, duly registered under the laws of the United Kingdom. This company is active in the supply, transport and trade of fuel, lubricants and LPG to commercial and industrial clients. The share capital of the said company belongs completely to Hellenic Petroleum International AG and is a 100% subsidiary of the Hellenic Petroleum Group of Companies which is active in the energy sector of Greece and SouthEastern Europe.
Petrolina (Holdings) Public Ltd is a public company, duly registered under the laws of the Republic of Cyprus. The said company is active in the fuel, LPG and lubricants market including the management part of the import and trade of these products as well as the refueling of aircrafts.
Synergas Cooperative Society Ltd is a cooperative society, duly registered under the laws of the Republic of Cyprus. The said company is active in the LPG market in accordance to the Cooperative Societies Law.
Intergaz Ltd is a cooperative society is a private limited liability company, duly registered under the laws of the laws of the Republic of Cyprus. The said company is active in the import, storage, bottling and distribution of LPG at a retail and wholesale level.
