Notification of a concentration regarding the acquisition by Schülke & Mayr GmbH of the share capital of CommitMed GmbH and subsidiaries

The Service of the Commission for the Protection of Competition has received a notification of a concentration, according to Section 10 of the Control of Concentrations between Enterprises Law of 2014, concerning the acquisition of the share capital of CommitMed GmbH and its subsidiaries proSenio GmbH and Aktivwelt GmbH, by Schülke & Mayr GmbH.

Schülke & Mayr GmbH. (hereinafter “Schülke”) is a limited liability company duly registered under the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. The company with its subsidiaries is active in the areas of infection prevention, hygiene and preservation and in within this framework develops, manufactures and dispenses antiseptics for wound injuries, disinfectants, and medical care products. Schülke with its subsidiaries is active through three main business sectors: (i) hygiene care∙ (ii) industrial hygiene∙ and over the counter medication. A fourth sector related to additives for personal care products was recently sold to a third company.


The Target Company in the concentration is CommitMed GmbH (hereinafter “CommitMed”), a limited liability company duly registered under the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, and its subsidiaries proSenio GmbH and Aktivwelt GmbH (herein jointly referred to as the “Group”). The Group is an e-commerce retailer for personal hygiene products and medical products for seniors. The Group sells these products through online shops on a Business to Consumer as well as a Business to Business basis.
