Notification of a concentration concerning the acquisition of some assets and liabilities of Marinopoulos SA General Trade by Greek Supermarkets Sklavenitis Commercial SA.

The Service of the Commission for the Protection of Competition announces that it received notification of a concentration concerning the proposed acquisition of some assets and liabilities of Marinopoulos SA General Trade by I & S Sklavenitis Commercial SA, through its subsidiary "Greek Supermarkets Sklavenitis Commercial SA".

The Greek Supermarkets Sklavenitis Commercial SA is a corporation duly registered in Greece and operates, inter alia, in the trade of all types of goods, especially food, beverages, personal care items, household and commercial items, through department stores, supermarkets and shopping centers. The Greek Supermarkets Sklavenitis Commercial SA is owned by I & S Sklavenitis Commercial SA which operates, inter alia, in the food and household goods retail trade through supermarkets. In Cyprus, Sklavenitis Group operates in the trade of paper products by Glaros Commercial SA, in the trade of household and food items through Mart SA and in the trade of fresh and frozen fish by Genfroco.

The target in this concentration is the capital of the following companies:

• Marketa Arvanitis Commercial SA, which operates in the supermarket sector in Greece.

• Palamaris Emmanuel Trading Company, Food Agents, Imports, Exports SA; parent company of Top House Commercial and Exporting SA.- which operates in the supermarket sector in Greece.

• Kronos N. Karakitsos Commercial and Industrial SA of Super Market goods- which operates in the supermarket sector in Greece.

• Zevfxi-Greek Grocery and Food Supermarkets Supplying and Commercial SA - which operates in the supermarket sector in Greece.


• Guedo Holdings Ltd, parent company of Chris Cash & Carry Ltd- which operates in the supermarket sector in Cyprus, under the name «Carrefour».
