The Service of the Commission for the Protection of Competition received on behalf of the Marinopoulos Holding(Cyprus) Ltd a notification of a proposed concentration according to Section 13 of the Control of Concentrations between Enterprises Law (Number 22(I)/99), concerning the acquisition of the sole control of the Marinopoulos Coffee Company Ltd by acquiring the shares of Starbucks Coffee International Inc in the said company , through Marinopoulos Brothers Ltd.

Marinopoulos Coffee Company Ltd is registered in accordance with the provisions of the laws of the Cyprus Republic and its shareholders are Μarinopoulos Βrothers Cyprus Ltd and Starbucks Coffee International Inc. The Marinopoulos Coffee Company Ltd is active in the Cyprus Republic in the management of coffee shops, sale and distribution of coffee and beverages and other products under the brand name Starbucks.
Starbucks Coffee International Inc is registered in the U.S.A. and is listed at the NASDAQ stock exchange in New York. The company is active in the supply, roast and sale of coffee, coffee and tea beverages, and sale of fresh food globally.
