The Service of the Commission for the Protection of Competition has received a notification of a concentration, according to Section 10 of the Control of Concentrations between Enterprises Law of 2014, concerning the acquisition of the share capital of Münker Metallprofile GmbH (“Münker”) by ArcelorMittal S.A (“ArcelorMittal”), via ArcelorMittal Construction Deutschland GmbH (“ArcelorMittal Construction”).
ArcelorMittal is listed on the Stock Exchanges of New York (MT), Amsterdam (MT), Paris (MT), Luxembourg (MT) and on the Spanish Stock Exchanges of Barcelona, Bilbao, Madrid and Valencia (MTS). ArcelorMittal is the holding company of the ArcelorMittal Group which is an integrated steel and mining company that produces a broad range of high-quality finished and semi-finished products. Specifically, the ArcelorMittal Group produces flat steel products (including sheets and plates), long steel products (including bars, rods and structural shapes), as well as pipes and tubes for various applications. ArcelorMittal Group produces except steel products, various types of mining commodities.
ArcelorMittal Construction is the subsidiary of ArcelorMittal and is duly registered under the laws of Germany. The said company is active in Cyprus, through some of its subsidiaries, in the production and direct sales of construction steels.
Munker is a company duly registered under the laws of Germany. The said company is an independent manufacturer of components for lightweight metal construction in Germany and is active in the production and direct sale of construction steels, such as trapezoidal profiles, corrugated profiles, steel cassettes (also called liner tray), and flashings.
