COMMISSION FOR THE PROTECTION OF COMPETITION

The Service of the Commission for the Protection of Competition on the 4th of May 2010 received on behalf of the company C.A. Papaellinas & Co Ltd notification of a proposed concentration according to the Control of Concentration between Enterprises Law (Number 22(I)/99), concerning the acquisition of 50% of the share capital of Demetriades & Papaellinas Ltd through the acquirement of the total share capital of Sofoklis Demetriades & Son Ltd.

C.A. Papaellinas & Co Ltd through its participation in other companies, is active in the import, manufacture and distribution of cosmetic, consumer and pharmaceuticals products.

Sofoklis Demetriades & Son Ltd is active in the distribution of pharmaceuticals products of Novartis Pharma Inc through its participation in the company Demetriades & Papaellinas Ltd. The company is also active in the trading of sweetener.

Demetriades & Papaellinas Ltd is active in the distribution of Novartis pharmaceutical products and provision of some services to Novartis such as reporting, orders and software support.
