The Commission for the Protection of Competition received a notification of a proposed concentration by Pfizer Inc, through its subsidiary Pfizer Ireland Pharmaceuticals, of AstraZeneca Sodertalje 1 AB’s share capital and other assets which belong to AstraZeneca group of companies.
Pfizer Ireland Pharmaceuticals is a company registered in Ireland owned by Pfizer Inc, the parent company of the Pfizer group. The Pfizer group is active in discovering, developing, manufacturing, marketing, and selling innovative medicines for humans. Pfizer Ireland's activities include the manufacture of biological active ingredients and finished vaccine drug products, and global and regional supply of established products.
The target of the proposed concentration is the share capital of AstraZeneca Sodertalje 1 AB and some assets of AstraZeneca group. Together they comprise the portfolio of on-market and pipeline small molecule anti-infectives.
